With more than 40 years of experience as a practicing CPA, Mark has in-depth experience across a full spectrum of individual and business accounting and financial advisory services. He enjoys counseling individuals who have a broad range of financial needs, as well as business clients from diverse industries in all stages of the business cycle.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Cal State Northridge. He immediately joined a national CPA firm, where he gained large company experience. Within four years, Mark realized that he wanted a more hands-on approach, and he pursued the kind of close client interaction that only a small firm could offer. In 1991 he merged with an acquired firm that would become Elsberg & Garrett, LLP.
Mark is also well-regarded in his community. Civic-minded, he has been involved with a variety of local non-profit organizations. When he is not sitting behind a desk, Mark enjoys the outdoors.
Bob Garrett, CPA is focused on establishing close working relationships with clients to help them maximize their financial and tax positions, grow their businesses and prosper.
He values the wealth of knowledge he has acquired from the experiences and perspectives of his clients: diverse individuals and businesses ranging from legal and medical practices to construction and environmental firms to cutting edge R&D and high-tech organizations. Bob appreciates not only the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with successful business people, but also the forum to transfer his learnings to other clients.
Bob offers more than 30 years of experience in accounting tax and financial advisory services for individuals and businesses. As a partner in Elsberg & Garrett, LLP, Bob has taken great pride in seeing the firm grow and adapt to the ever-changing needs of its clients. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business/accounting from the University of Phoenix.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Bob has always supported the community through involvement in local non-profits and his children's schools and sports programs.
Stacey Brownell, CPA joined Elsberg & Garrett, LLP more than 20 years ago. She specializes in individual and business entity tax preparation and financial statements, but Stacey is much more than a number cruncher. Customer service is important to her, and she enjoys working alongside a variety of clients, establishing new relationships and cultivating existing ones, year after year.
Although Stacey's technical expertise and background are often called into action, she is also valued for her dedication to finding new ways to provide the best possible client solutions. Stacey earned a bachelor's degree (cum laude) in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo.
Seth Calhoun, CPA joined Elsberg & Garrett, LLP in early 2019. He started his career out in Milwaukee, Wisconsin after a spontaneous move to the Midwest following graduating from college. Seth received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration from Sonoma State University.
Seth has over 15 years experience working with individuals and closely held businesses. When he returned to California, he landed a job in the Napa Valley to learn accounting and inventory costing of wineries. He has also worked with real estate partnerships, law firms, medical practices and businesses in a number of other industries. He values all the knowledge and insight he has learned from the clients he has worked with over the years.
Seth is in the process of completing his Masters in Taxation at Golden Gate University. Outside of working and studying he enjoys spending time outdoors, cycling, hiking and sampling his favorite micro-brews.
Arlene Yee joined Elsberg & Garrett, LLP in 2018. As the firm's office administrator, Arlene is the first response to client inquiries and requests, and she oversees all back-office systems. Arlene quickly learned why the firm's clients loyally return, year after year, and she has become an integral part of the team's supportive, open, and communicative environment.
Arlene enjoys learning and socializing with others. She is currently studying on human resource at California State Universtiy of East Bay.
